Therapeutic fasting
Therapeutic fasting is voluntary conscious refusal of food, the so-called unloading and diet therapy or UDT. With a competent approach, this therapy can lead to significant positive changes in the human body.
This method has proven itself not only in the correction of body weight, restoration of metabolism, release from toxins, but also in problems of the endocrine system, bronchial asthma, allergies, skin diseases, heart disease, stomach ulcers, the initial stages of diabetes, joints, spine.
Therapeutic fasting also stabilizes the mental state, as it is a conscious spiritual system involving work on oneself and strict discipline.
The Fasting Process and Withdrawal from UDT
Proper therapeutic fasting involves a preliminary stage of diagnosis and preparation, a psychological mindset. Before starting UDT, a person must tune in to fasting. Everything is based on the inner desire to change one’s system of diet as a whole and understanding that one course of fasting alone will not solve anything. There are quite a few cases when people have survived the whole period of fasting and then returned to their usual diet. It is not hard to guess that such actions will not lead to anything good.
Regarding the period of UDT, I do not recommend doing therapeutic fasting for more than fifteen days. The thing is, as a rule, starting from the sixteenth day there is a gradual collapse of the immune system. For some patients, this can lead to a serious aggravation, so you have to be reasonable.
UDT should be accompanied by procedures that improve blood circulation and accelerate metabolic processes, promote the release of toxic substances, obtain a general tonic effect: sauna, massage, hiking, moderate exercise.
It is recommended to chew food thoroughly, which contributes to satiety with less food and eliminates overeating, because there is a certain relationship between satiety and the number of chewing movements. As for water, during therapeutic fasting you should consume 30 ml per 1 kg of body weight.
During the fasting phase, an acidotic crisis (high cellular oxidation) occurs, which may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, headache and weakness. It develops individually, but usually from the third to the sixth day. Further there is a restructuring of the body, and fasting passes easily.
The final stage is the exit from UDT, at which clear water and food regimes are obligatory. The ideal exit period should correspond to the period of therapeutic fasting – if the fast was ten days, then the exit should be of the same duration. The main thing to understand is that at the end of the fasting stage you should stick to a strict calorage: 1500-1700 kcal per day.

After going through a full course, you get rid of toxins at the cellular level, restore metabolism, improve metabolism and endocrine system functioning, strengthen immunity and lose weight. UDT restores one’s health and gives strength. No other method of treatment can compare with therapeutic fasting in terms of its effect on the entire body.
